Nice.

Recorded, brief moment of genius on my part:
...you see, Luke cannot twist open the door knobs yet, and it would be nice if he could.
So this is my rigging to make that possible.
The door silently closes and opens without that pesky door knob needed to twist!
haha-hope you enjoyed!

Now when you come over to my house you won't need an explanation. :D

Tre, lately

Some recent pics of Tre:
Sitting with his Jenkins' Grandparents' dog, and note the use of the finger:

What a smile!

Ninja/Rambo Boy!!

Computer savvy

He's a big kid now.

Luke's new table and chairs in his room, which he loves!
Eating his snack:
How it looks in his "Big-boy room"
Note the big boy bed, and table and chairs...he is growing so fast!

At the table

Progressing on with our Big Boy, we have moved out of the high chair as well as the crib! But instead of getting a booster seat, we saw this chair booster and really liked it. Now Luke can sit at the table with us in a big chair, it is a great height. Unless you look down, it isn't noticeable (say for company) and he can't really outgrow it, until he is ready to sit in the chair without it! So its pretty cool. And it is portable. The legs collapse up against each other, it comes with a case, fits on any chair with four legs and literally took 3 minutes to put together. So good product, we have really liked it so far. He can't climb into it, but it does make the chair sturdier. So, good plug by me. :)
And do you see my kid eating like such a big boy?! A place mat, a plate, silverware ("plasticware")! Its great. And when he is finished he says, "All done." and "Thank you." Then he can get down and play. Yeah Luke!

March Madness with Daddy
The force is strong with this one:
What a cute smile!!

Cars and Madness

This is how most of the first two rounds of March Madness looked in our home last weekend. Aaron in his chair watching the games on the computer (you can watch them all online and the reception is way better), and Luke playing all around him.
These pictures were taken while Aaron was sleeping (and therefore still enough for Luke's cars to stay on the foot rest of his chair).
As you can see, Luke is very particular about how his cars should line up:

Video of Lunch

Video of Luke eating lunch yesterday, in his booster (-ered) chair, and his Veggie Tales place mat--like a very big boy!

Books of the Old Testament

I am so sorry to those of you who cannot view this because of it's size, but it is amazing. This is Luke telling us the books of the Old Testament-Aaron has been teaching them to him and he is just a sponge! How exciting.

Caricature

Luke and I went to the mall on Saturday as our indoor playground to let Aaron get some good sleep after his youth group all-nighter. And when we got there, a man was doing free caricature drawings! So of course I had one done of Luke. It was part of a Bank promotional-hence the coin, but lots of fun to walk around and see all the fun stuff they were doing.
So what do you think? Look like Luke or not?

Great finds

I went to a HUGE children's' sale last week and found a TON of stuff for Luke. I was able to get most, if not all, of what I will (check that, should) need for Luke until this fall. Very exciting! And as always, I have a compulsion to wear new clothes when I get them-but these weren't my new clothes...so Luke got to wear his new clothes (even if they were a smidgen to big for him). Here are a couple of pictures of Luke looking adorable in his new pajamas and new slippers (Clifford the Big Red Dog), while watching Veggie Tales' The Ballad of Little Joe (Luke's favorite movie right now). So cute. And can I just plug The Ballad of Little Joe for a moment? What a great movie! It is the story of Joseph in the Bible, done as a western (A Western Bible Story), and it is so funny. The French Peas are his brothers, and instead of Egypt, he is in Dodgeball city, where "if you don't play fair-yer out", and you have to beware of dodgeball stampedes. lol. I love it. But then, I also like westerns.

Big Boy Bed

Luke is a big boy! He is now sleeping in a big boy bed. Here are a few pictures of this phenomenon. :D He is very proud of his "big boy bed", and he loves to help make the bed, and he loves to pile up his books on it and sit down and read on the bed. He especially loves it when Mommy or Daddy will sit on his bed and read with him.

Bath-time

Bath time can be fun and a time of learning too!

Saturday, March 01, 2008

This song has been stuck in my head all day-but its a good one!

I Surrender All
~
I have wrestled in the darkness of this lonely pilgrim land
Raising strong and mighty fortresses that I alone command
But these castles I've constructed by the strength of my own hand
Are just temporary kingdoms on foundations made of sand
In the middle of the battle I believe I've finally found
I'll never know the thrill of victory 'til I'm willing to lay down
All my weapons of defense and earthly strategies of war
So I'm laying down my arms and running helplessly to Yours
~
Chorus:
I surrender all my silent hopes and dreams
Though the price to follow costs me everything
I surrender all my human soul desires
If sacrifice requires
That all my kingdoms fall I surrender all
~
If the source of my ambition is the treasure I obtain
If I measure my successes on a scale of earthly gain
If the focus of my vision is the status I attain
My accomplishments are worthless and my efforts are in vain
So I lay aside these trophies to pursue a higher crown
And should You choose somehow to use the life I willingly lay down
I surrender all the triumph for it's only by Your grace
I relinquish all the glory, I surrender all the praise
~
Bridge:
Everything I am, all I've done, and all I've known
Now belongs to You, the life I live is not my own
Just as Abraham laid Isaac on the sacrificial fire
If all I have is all that You desire
I surrender all
~
