Hallelujah in Food Court

This is amazing. An image of heaven? Only then everyone will be singing!

Fighting battles

I am raising two boys, ages 4 and 2, and through the playing and learning and growing there is in the background the thought that these boys will grow to be men.  Not soon, but sooner than I think.
Training men.   Men who I pray will be strong in the their faith, in their character, in the Lord.  Able to withstand the little (and big) battles with the world and with themselves that will come their way. I pray that the Lord will be their strength! and that they will know that the battle is already won!

But...right now, we fight battles of another kind!

We've been watching alot of Robin Hood lately, can you tell?  (The "swords" are made from soft wrapping paper rolls.)  I am (apparently) the villain. LOL
(I apologize for the camera angle-consider it part of the experience!)

Day in Chicago, Part 1-the Zoo

On Thursday we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo-it is the largest FREE zoo in the country. We paid to park and enjoyed our free fun!

A great fall day at the Zoo!

Joel getting a good view

At the Monkey house!
When you put your hands in the different prints, you can hear the monkey sounds and see where they live light up on the map!
I think he was ignoring us
Being monkeys
Sounding like monkeys

This monkey put on a show for us! Can you see that he is sucking his thumb?

Meercats and camels

The Giraffe came over and said hello

Bears and the boys in an Ant hill

This hippo put on a show for us-he swam around and came and looked at us, the woman who worked there said he *never* does that!

Cute boys outside the wolves habitat

We thought these fish were so cool!

The polar bear was the coolest! He put on a real show for us!

Here is a video of the Polar Bear's show:

cubbie song

I believe the Bible
Is the Word of God

I believe in Jesus
Is the Son of God

You and I have sinned
And it makes God sad

Jesus died for sinners
He arose for me

Jesus Christ has risen
He arose for me

Eating the birthday cake

Birthday party!

I made the cake-its a train, can you tell? The colors are dark, but they are purple, green and blue

I think he likes it!

He likes to hold the spoon, but he's still figuring that out...
Luke!
Thats gonna stain

Eating with two hands

I love the illusion of propriety here with the spoon

YUM!

Pictures are nice-but you really have to watch this video to really see how much he enjoyed his birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Joel!

Joel's Birthday Dinner

Joel's special birthday dinner-CULVER'S!! Luke gets a cheeseburger and fries, maybe a couple cheese curds, when he goes, but Joel gets a chicken dinner with a roll and two sides! He almost eats it all!
Praying for dinner

Gobbling it up!

All done!

Full and Happy.

Joel's birthday, more

Joel playing on his birthday, you can see him walking a bit, he has been walking since the beginning of December!

Now that Joel is 1 year old he can sit in his big boy car seat, front facing! He loves it.

Luke on doctrine and Farkle:
"I got the doubles because God was with me! God is with me even when I farkle. He says, 'That's okay.', and I say, 'Thank you.', and He says, 'You're welcome.' "

Watch a video of Luke playing Farkle (a facebook computer game, dice game also known as "10,000")-getting his high score of 10,250 in 8 rounds!
